Dr. Gurmeet Singh becomes the first Sikh from India to be inducted into the Board of Trustees of ESRDS-France

New Delhi: It is a proud moment for India that Dr. Gurmeet Singh, Chairman, Bellamonde Hotels has been appointed as the Board of Trustees of Ecole Supérieure Robert de Sorbonne (ESRDS), France. This is the first time that an Indian Sikh has been given this prestigious position by this esteemed French University.

The XXII Sorbonne International Doctoral Convocation was held at Bellamonde, New Delhi and was attended by many eminent personalities. The event was chaired by Dr. John Thomas Prade, President, ESRDS-France along with Dr. Vivek Chaudhary (Vice President, ESRDS & President, IIPPT Foundation) and Dr. Nirmal Bansal (Provost, ESRDS-France). Many dignitaries including former MP Dr. Meenakshi Lekhi and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Dr. Bart S. Fischer were present as special guests at the event.

This appointment of Dr. Gurmeet Singh recognizes his exceptional contribution and experience in hospitality, education and global leadership. He has been associated with ESRDS-France for a long time and in this new role will play a key role in further strengthening education and cultural ties between India and France.

Honorary Doctorate Degree, Bharat Samman Award and Women Empowerment Award were also presented in this grand ceremony. Also, the book "Revolution in Banking – Wheels of India’s Growth Story" was released. Many prominent personalities who have contributed in the field of education, administration, social service and art were honored.
